Report Template Improvements
We’ve rolled out a new image resizer and file processor as part of our reporting engine — designed to give you more control, better visuals, and faster downloads.
Why this matters
Previously, report templates used fixed image dimensions. While this worked for standard cases, users who needed custom image sizes — especially for branding, charts, or document overlays — often ran into:
- Stretching or distortion
- Blurry, downscaled images
- Lack of control over quality and cropping
This update solves those pain points.
What’s New
Custom Image Resizing with Overlays
- Set custom width and height per report
- Define resize algorithm: fill, fit, crop, etc.
- Apply SVG overlays for charts, icons, or branding elements
New Report Template Settings
You’ll now find these image-specific options in the report builder:
- Default image quality (0–100)
- Image width/height in pixels
- Resize method: Fill, fit, crop, etc.
- Fix EXIF orientation for rotated camera images
Example: A photo taken on mobile that appears sideways will now be auto-corrected if “Fix EXIF orientation” is enabled.
File Processing & Zip Downloads
Our new backend also supports:
- Non-image file handling (e.g., PDFs, text files)
- Zipping multiple files into a single download
- Faster processing via an optimized file queue
This means all your primary file requests (downloads from reports, logs, photos, etc.) are now handled by this new service, making file delivery significantly faster and more reliable.
