Technical Folder Presets
Found in: Data > Technical Folder PresetsThe Technical Folder Presets module helps you define reusable templates that standardize compliance documentation requirements for specific product categories, regions, or risk types.
Each preset acts as a blueprint for creating Technical Folders, automatically listing the expected compliance files, test reports, and safety documents required for a product type.
This ensures every new Technical Folder follows the same validation criteria, saving time, improving consistency, and minimizing setup errors.
Let’s get started 🚀

Create a New Technical Folder Preset
When your organization introduces a new product category or compliance requirement, you can create a new preset to ensure future Technical Folders include the correct files automatically.
Step 1: Click Create Technical Folder Preset from the top-right corner of the Preset List page.

Step 2: In the New Technical Folder Preset form, enter the following information:
| Ref | Field | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Preset Name | The name of the preset (e.g., “Low-risk consumer products”). |
| 2 | Description | A short explanation of what this preset is for (e.g., “Required documentation for non-CE low-risk goods”). |
| 3 | Product Supplier | Define which supplier(s) this preset applies to, if relevant. |
| 4 | Product Type | Specify the general category of products this preset is intended for. |
| 5 | ProductV | An optional field for additional classification or internal grouping. |

Step 3: Click Add File Preset to define the individual file requirements included in this preset.

Add File Presets
Each preset consists of one or more file entries, representing documents that need to be collected for compliance.
| Ref | Field | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Title | The name or purpose of the required file (e.g., “Test Report based on EN 71-3”). |
| 2 | Importance | Defines how critical the file is to the compliance process. Options include: - Optional (weight 1) - Important (weight 2) - Must Have (weight 3) The importance level affects the overall Technical Folder status calculation. |
| 3 | Doc Group | Categorizes the file into a logical group (e.g., Safety Test Report, Risk Assessment, or Declaration of Conformity). |
| 4 | Test Standard | Specifies the regulatory or testing standard the file must meet (e.g., EN 71-3:2019 + A1:2021). |

To include multiple file types, repeat this process by clicking Add File Preset again.

✅ Group files by regulation type or market region (e.g., “EU Market Safety Tests”) to make presets reusable across product categories.
Once all file presets are defined, click Save to create the preset. This preset will now be available for selection whenever a new Technical Folder is created.

Delete Preset
If a preset is no longer relevant, simply open the preset from the list, click Delete on the preset page. Deletion removes the preset and all its associated file definitions.

⚠️ Deleting a preset does not affect existing Technical Folders that already use it. Those folders retain their defined file requirements.
Edit an Existing Preset
You can update an existing preset to reflect changes in compliance requirements (e.g., updated standards or additional file categories).
Simply open the preset from the list, make the required edits (such as changing the test standard or adjusting file importance), and click Save.
Changes will automatically apply to all newly created Technical Folders using that preset.
